Our Revolution Endorses Marc Elrich for County Executive
SILVER SPRING, Md._ On May 14, Our Revolution announced their endorsement of Marc Elrich for Montgomery County Executive. Our Revolution lists three “intertwined goals” on their website: they seek to “revitalize American democracy...by activating supporters and engaging millions more Americans in the political process,” “empower progressive leaders” like Elrich, and “elevate political consciousness” by “educat[ing] the public.” Elrich was the first choice of over 70% of Our Revolution members in Montgomery County and every single member listed him among their top two selections.
“Whether it’s leading the effort to raise the wages of the lowest-paid workers in the County, or in pushing the Council to pay more attention to maintaining existing affordable housing, Marc Elrich has been the most progressive voice on the Council,” said Ed Fischman, Chair of Our Revolution’s Montgomery County chapter. “When he is elected County Executive, Marc will set a new standard for good government and progressive leadership that will be a model for the rest of the country.”
“While still a young organization, Our Revolution has already started harnessing political energy among progressive-minded people,” Elrich said. “I am excited to work with them in the years ahead to empower everyday people who want to get involved in the political process and make Montgomery County a better place.”
